Saron Juniors Football club continues its revival. Having celebrated its 25th season, a season in which the club stabilized, off and on the pitch, Saron Juniors is now pushing on with ambitious on the field growth for the forthcoming season.
I am delighted to formally announce that Saron Juniors will for the very first time be running an under 6 team in the coming year. Ian Davies has agreed to lead the U6’s. The club has been overwhelmed with the response and the little ones will be pulling on the green of Saron at the age of 5/6 for the first time in just a few weeks. Saron Juniors are looking for parents/coaches prepared to work with Ian and if anyone is prepared to get involved, please get in touch?
The U6’s will work closely with our U7’s led by Joe Eldred, & Teifion Morgan, who this season will be supported by Shaun James who is joining the coaching set up. Shaun played in the very first Saron Juniors team in 1992, his dad Mark James was one of the original committee members so great to have Shaun join the team.
Our U9’s will continue to be led by Catrin Evans-Williams and Ashley Thomas, who will continue to have lots of fun.
There are new coaches joining our u10’s, I’m pleased to say two former player are coming back to the club in coaching capacity with Sion Allen & Carl Morris taking over coaching duties supported by Geraint Burrows and Kevin Thomas. Both Sion and Carl have long associations as former players of Saron Juniors and we are delighted to welcome them both back to the club in a new capacity.
Our U12 move into junior football this season across Carmarthenshire, in the 9 a side format. Phil Clement, Gary Williams & Zak Morgan will be taking our U12’s in their new adventures…grass, mud, bigger pitches, home & away. Good luck lads.
Players wanted – sadly, we are still to confirm if we will have an U14 this season, this age group is currently short of players, we are actively seeking new players to join us and keep this team going so if you want to join a progressive club with a group of lads who play with great spirit and determination and importantly want to ‘play’ every week, please get in touch…..but be quick!
I am thrilled to announce Saron Juniors have entered a new U15 team this season. The club has responded to requests from ‘local lads’ to set up a team for this age group via its social media pages and are delighted that Gavin Thomas & Jake Webb have agreed to join us and lead these lads in their first season. Good luck lads, we hope you enjoy your first season wearing the green of Saron.
Finally, our U16 will be determined to build on their Carmarthenshire League runners up spot last season as they play their final season of junior football in 2018. These lads aren’t going anywhere – the club is pleased to announce we will be starting a youth team for season 2018/19 so hope many of these lads will stay on with Saron ‘beyond Juniors’.
